THE WAY OF SAINT JAMES
The French routegoes by the villages of Paradela, Portomarín, Monterrosao, and Palas del Rey, which are next to the town of Taboada where we are located.
Sarria, Portomarín, Ligonde, Vilar de Donas, Pambre, are places that show the pilgrims the treasures and legends of centuries.
Another little known, but highly recommended alternative to the French Route, is the Winter Route, which follows the coast of the river Sil. This route was used by the romans and the French, in their invasions of Galician territory.
From Monforte by Dimondi, is Belesar, where the river Miño crosses to arrive at our neighboring town of Chantada. Following a climb to the Mount of the Lighthouse, descends by Rodeiro and Lalín, to continue by the Silver Road.
